Jammin’ to J Boog and Fiji while waiting for your food. You can’t beat that. Hole in the wall with big island vibes. I had the chicken teriyaki, mac salad and a spam musubi. Waited about 10 min for perfectly cooked chicken fresh off the grill. The rice was sticky (as it should be) and the mac salad what’s the right amount of sweet and tangy. Highly recommend this place.

This place is a hidden gem tucked in a side road. We didn’t order ahead so the food took a while to get but it was definitely worth the wait. The short ribs and spam bowls we got both really good and had large portions.

Having just returned from Hawaii I was craving some a Loco Moco, found this place, saw good reviews and was hyped to try it out. Scheduled my order for pickup for 11:20am on my way back from running errands during a lunch break. Get there at 11:25, walk up to an unwelcoming employee, say that I’m there to pick up my order, they say that since mine was the first order of the day (20 minutes past open mind you) that the rice isn’t ready yet. Ok no problem I think, mistakes happen. I ask how long it will be, “honestly I have no idea, maybe 20 minutes” is the reply delivered in the most least apologetic voice possible, no hint of any kind of apology. Asked for a refund, “I have no idea how to do that, will have to call the owner”. I was so excited to try this place and give them my business but it’s wild that the only employee they have working there couldn’t care less about what’s going on. Also, isn’t it a requirement of cooking good food to know how long it should be cooking for? Crazy to me to say they have no idea how long it’ll take. I’m happy to not be eating whatever was (or wasn’t )cooked with so little care. If that’s how they’re treating the customer to their face how are

We usually go somewhere nearby for Hawaiian food, but decided to try Pacific Flame since it’s just down the road. We ordered essentially the same meal we normally get, so it was an easy comparison. Unfortunately, our takeout order on 4/26 was disappointing. The rice was extremely mushy, gummy, and lacked the proper texture and flavor you’d expect. Since rice is such a big part of this style of meal, it really brought the meal down. The Spam musubi had the same issue, and we weren’t able to enjoy them. The macaroni salad was just okay. On the positive side, the meat itself was flavorful and well-prepared, and the sauces were great. The server was also nice, and the ambiance was welcoming. Most importantly, after I contacted ownership, they responded quickly, apologized sincerely, investigated the issue with their team, and made it right with me. That level of professionalism and accountability deserves recognition. While our first experience was not a good one, I appreciate how seriously they handled the situation and may consider giving them another try in the future.

I stopped by for an early dinner on a Friday. I ordered the surf and turf plate. The beef and shrimp were amazing! The pasta salad and rice were great and fresh! The roll was very tasty and fresh! Great service from the girl working, she was very friendly. Best Hawaiian food in Austin! I’ll be back! Thank you!
